Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data policepayrise.co.uk collects, how it is used, and your rights. Last updated 1 October 2026.

Who we are

policepayrise.co.uk ("we", "us") provides free calculators and guides about police pay in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the limited personal data described below. You can reach us at [email protected].

The calculators run in your browser

Every figure you enter into our pay rise, back pay and take-home calculators, such as your rank, pay point, tax code and hours, is processed entirely in your own browser. It is never transmitted to, or stored by, us. Closing the page clears it.

What we do collect

If you choose to join our update list, we collect the email address you submit so we can email you when police pay changes. We do not collect it unless you submit the form. We also collect standard, aggregated analytics about how the site is used (for example pages viewed and approximate region), which does not identify you personally.

Lawful basis

We rely on your consent for the update emails, and on our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the site for analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us.

Who we share it with

We use a third-party email service to send our updates and a third-party analytics provider to measure site usage. These providers process data on our behalf under contract. We do not sell your data to anyone. Where providers process data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards are in place.

How long we keep it

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Aggregated analytics are retained in line with our provider's standard retention period.

Cookies

We use only essential cookies and privacy-respecting analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting the calculators.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
